Harly Earl who endeavored to bring the European Sports Car to the American Motor Car Arena created this very beautiful but quite tame 6 cylinder 2 carburetors, fiberglass, "Blue Flame" Engined Corvette. The car, through the perseverance of the legendary Duntov, evolved into the 327 cu in 5363 cm cu 360 Hp V 8 with independent rear suspension; first finned drum brakes, then disc; first twin carbs then fuel injection carburetion; 4 speed close ratio manual transmission firebomb which in 1963 was already holding its own in "A-Production SCCA races" among the most prestigious European marques as Ferrari, Jaguar XKE and Aston Martin, and accelerating to 60 mph in just over 4 seconds. |
