Yeteri kadar ilgi \u00e7ekmeyen Chevelle, Nova, Corvair ve hem de Corvette modelleri yan\u0131nda, b\u00fcy\u00fck g\u00f6vde serileri Impala, Bel Air ve Biscayne, Amerikal\u0131\u2019n\u0131n otomobil tarz\u0131n\u0131 ger\u00e7ekle\u015ftiren modeller oldular ve \u201c\u00dc\u00e7 B\u00fcy\u00fckler\u201d aras\u0131nda rakipsiz duruma geldiler.  <\/p>\n<p>Bu \u00fc\u00e7 serinin de 6 ve V8 motorlu versiyonlar\u0131 aras\u0131nda, yine \u00fcst donan\u0131ml\u0131 Impala en \u00e7ok satan otomobildi. 1961 y\u0131l\u0131n\u0131n B-G\u00f6vdesi\u2019nin stil ve teknik olarak devam\u0131 ve son \u00f6rne\u011fi olan 1964 Chevrolet, 1961\u2019de ilk tan\u0131t\u0131lan Super Sport (SS) l\u00fcks ve performans paketini sadece Impala\u2019n\u0131n 6 ve V8 silindirli sport coupe ve convertible modellerinde 161 Dolar ekstra bir \u00f6deme ile pazarlad\u0131.<\/p>\n<p>Ad\u0131n\u0131 Afrika Antilopu\u2019ndan alan Impala\u2019n\u0131n Super Sport se\u00e7enekleri asl\u0131nda giyim ve s\u00fcsleme olarak d\u00fc\u015f\u00fcn\u00fcld\u00fc. SS modelinin temel spesifikasyonlar\u0131 Impala, Bel Air ve Biscayne\u2019den farks\u0131z. SS amblemini i\u00e7te ve d\u0131\u015fta son y\u0131l kullanan Super Sport\u2019da, Impala\u2019n\u0131n yatay \u201cU\u201d \u015feklinde g\u00f6vde yan krom \u00e7\u0131talar\u0131 yerine, tek, daha geni\u015f ve daha yukar\u0131 konumlanm\u0131\u015f bir krom \u00e7\u0131ta bulunuyor. 1958 y\u0131l\u0131ndan beri kullan\u0131lmakta olan \u00e7er\u00e7eve takviyesiz (X) \u015fekilli \u015fasinin bu y\u0131l son y\u0131l\u0131. Fisher imalat\u0131 g\u00f6vde, \u00f6nceki y\u0131llar gibi yine birle\u015ftirilmi\u015f tek par\u00e7a. \u00d6n ve arkalarda takviyeli amortis\u00f6r ve helezon yaylarla s\u00fcspansiyon ger\u00e7ekle\u015fiyor.
