E-Type Jaguar, 1961 Mart ay\u0131nda, \u0130svi\u00e7re, Geneva Motor Show\u2019da; 1961 Nisan ay\u0131nda da New York International Motor Show\u2019da, iki ki\u015filik GT stili Fixed Head Coupe (FHC) ve iki ki\u015filik convertible Open Two Seater (OTS) modelleri ile yurt d\u0131\u015f\u0131na pazarlanmak i\u00e7in tan\u0131t\u0131ld\u0131. Fakat d\u00f6rt ay sonra 1961 Temmuz\u2019unda \u0130ngiltere pazar\u0131na da girdi. Amerika\u2019da XK-E ad\u0131 ile pazarlanan E-Type\u2019\u0131n fiyat\u0131, Aston Martin DB4 GT\u2019nin yar\u0131 fiyat\u0131ndan d\u00fc\u015f\u00fck, performans\u0131 y\u00fcksek ve daha dinamik idi. Orijinal 3.8 litre 6 silindir motor 1961-1964 y\u0131llar\u0131 aras\u0131nda kullan\u0131ld\u0131. 1964 Ekim ay\u0131nda yeni, g\u00fc\u00e7l\u00fc 4.2 litre (4235 cc \/ 258 cu. inch), daha fazla tork\u2019lu XK motoru, daha iyi bir \u015fanz\u0131man ve frenlerle kullan\u0131lmaya ba\u015fland\u0131. 1966\u2019da uzun \u015fasili d\u00f6rt ki\u015filik coupe 2+2, 1968 y\u0131l\u0131nda da Amerikan \u015fartnamesi gere\u011fi, \u00fcstlerinde cam koruyucu olmayan farlar, b\u00fcy\u00fck y\u00fcksek tamponlar ve altlar\u0131nda yer alan sinyal ve stop lambalar\u0131 ile Series 2 tan\u0131t\u0131ld\u0131. 1971 y\u0131l\u0131nda, yeni, hafif ala\u015f\u0131m, 272 beygir g\u00fcc\u00fcndeki 5343 cc hacminde V12 motor ile d\u00f6rt sene \u00fcretimde kalan Series 3\u2019\u00fcn imalat\u0131na ge\u00e7ildi. 1960\u2019lar\u0131n en g\u00fczel spor otomobili ve d\u00fcnyan\u0131n en g\u00fczel 100 otomobilinden biri olarak bilinen, 1961-1975 y\u0131llar\u0131 aras\u0131 72,515 adet sat\u0131lan bu XK-E, m\u00fczemize, roadster (OTS) stilinin, convertible ad\u0131 ile pazarland\u0131\u011f\u0131 Amerika\u2019dan getirildi.
