Teknik olarak yap\u0131lanlar\u0131n en \u00f6nemlileri, \u015fasinin g\u00fc\u00e7lendirilmesi, \u00f6ndeki helezon yaylara mafsall\u0131 sal\u0131ncak kollar ilave edilerek s\u00fcspansiyonun \u00e7ok daha yumu\u015fak duruma getirilmesi ve elektrik sisteminin 12 Volt\u2019a d\u00f6n\u00fc\u015ft\u00fcr\u00fclmesi oldu.      <\/p>\n<p>193 beygir g\u00fcc\u00fcndeki standart motorun 202 beygire y\u00fckseltilmesi ve 312 cu. inch\u2019lik (5113 cc) yeni bir V8 motorun ilave edilmesi ile de performans art\u0131r\u0131ld\u0131. Yeni motor otomatik \u015fanz\u0131manla 225 beygir g\u00fcc\u00fcne eri\u015fti. Otomobili 1955\u2019ten farkl\u0131 k\u0131lan ve hemen g\u00f6ze \u00e7arpan g\u00f6vde yenilikleri ise; hardtop tavan\u0131n iki yan\u0131ndaki, s\u00fcr\u00fcc\u00fcn\u00fcn g\u00f6r\u00fc\u015f a\u00e7\u0131s\u0131n\u0131 rahatlatan, se\u00e7enek s\u0131n\u0131f\u0131ndaki \u201cPorthole\u201d, yuvarlak gemi kamaras\u0131 pencereleri, kelebek camlar, \u00f6n \u00e7amurluklardaki vantilasyon kapaklar\u0131 ve bagajdaki hacmi yetersiz k\u0131ld\u0131\u011f\u0131ndan, \u201cContinental Kit\u201d olarak bagaj d\u0131\u015f\u0131na al\u0131nan yedek tekerlek sebebi ile tasar\u0131m\u0131 de\u011fi\u015fen, iki yan\u0131nda gizli egzoz \u00e7\u0131k\u0131\u015f delikleri bulunan arka tampon.   <\/p>\n<p>1956 y\u0131l\u0131, t\u00fcm Ford\u2019lar i\u00e7in performans ve g\u00fcvenlik \u00e7al\u0131\u015fmalar\u0131n\u0131n yap\u0131ld\u0131\u011f\u0131 y\u0131l idi. \u201cHayat Kurtar\u0131c\u0131 Tasar\u0131m\u201d ad\u0131 verilen yenilikler 1956 T-Bird\u2019lerde de yap\u0131ld\u0131. G\u00f6\u011f\u00fcse batmas\u0131n\u0131n \u00f6nlenmesi i\u00e7in direksiyon, kolonu k\u0131salt\u0131larak i\u00e7 b\u00fckey \u015feklini ald\u0131. Se\u00e7enek olarak, \u00f6n panelin \u00fcst\u00fc ve g\u00fcne\u015flikler \u00e7arpmalara kar\u015f\u0131 yumu\u015fak malzeme ile kapland\u0131. \u0130\u00e7 dikiz aynas\u0131 kolu mafsall\u0131 hale getirildi ve kap\u0131 kilit mandallar\u0131 kolay a\u00e7\u0131l\u0131r \u015fekilde yenilendi. Bu y\u0131l da Thunderbird, standart 56 Ford\u2019un (stop lambalar\u0131 gibi) bir\u00e7ok par\u00e7as\u0131n\u0131 aynen kulland\u0131. M\u00fczemizdeki 1956 Thunderbird Convertible, bir Frans\u0131z asilzade taraf\u0131ndan \u201cTavusku\u015fu Mavisi\u201dnde ve bir\u00e7ok aksesuarla sipari\u015f edilmi\u015f, sonradan Kanadal\u0131 bir politikac\u0131ya sat\u0131lm\u0131\u015ft\u0131r. Bu Kanadal\u0131 siyaset\u00e7iden sat\u0131n al\u0131narak Florida\u2019ya ve oradan da \u0130stanbul\u2019a getirilerek restore edilen otomobil, 15,631 adet \u00fcretildi\u011finden en zor bulunanlardand\u0131r. James Dean, Marilyn Monroe ve Grace Kelly filmlerinin de kahraman\u0131 olan Convertible\u2019lar, 1956\u2019da 3,151 Dolar fiyatla sat\u0131ld\u0131lar.
